Kentucky Red Bonnie

When we first wanted to get a dog, Clint insisted we get a coonhound. While growing up, he hunted with a Bluetick hound by the name of Buck. He always wanted a Redbone after watching "Where the Red Fern Grows". Our search for our first hound led us to Hawesville, Kentucky. It was a wild night, we followed a tornado through Illinois, but the craziness was well worth it. We got the first pick of the litter and Clint decided that Bonnie was "The One". She has grown up to be one of the best dogs he's ever hunted with.

Bonnie has not only been an amazing hunter, but has helped in training other dogs. She trailed and treed her first coon at eight months. Her first season brought in 13 coons, and she wasn't even a year old. The second season, with Clyde being nine months, the two pulled in 32 coons.

She has been very easy to train and to housebreak. She is great with our nieces and a real member of the family.
